Fluorescent High Bay Lighting – Harbor Springs

Factory lighting upgradeYesterday I was back at Jervis Webb installing the next batch of the new fluorescent high bay fixtures. These were the same fixtures that I talked about in an earlier post. This time was not much different. I did have to rent a lift from Taylor Rental in Petoskey. They’re the “go to” place for all the tools and equipment you need.

The batch we installed yesterday was the last of the 480 volt variety. The rest of the lights in the factory will all be 120 volts. That’s one of the things you really have to be careful of in industrial work. There are many different voltages in  most industrial applications. If you don’t pay attention to what system you’re working on you can damage expensive equipment or even worse yourself.

We worked ten hours and got the job done. Picking up the lift at 3:00 pm and working until just after 1:00 in the morning. It’s a tough shift to work but it’s what you’ve got to do for the customer. Doing that work while the factory was operational would have made the factory workers job much too difficult.
