Elizabeth Street Electrical Work – Petoskey Michigan

Electrical Service Upgrade

Today I worked on an older home on Elizabeth St. in Petoskey. I have the job because of my friend Matt Webster who owns Roots and Reverence Construction LLC. The owner of the home is Matt’s brother in-law. He bought the house for a song through foreclosure and is now renovating it.

The first job I tackled there was the electrical service which was not safe at all. The first picture you see is before I started and the second is after I finished. That was a big step in the right direction.  The work done today involved the “rough in” wiring of the dining room and lower bathroom.

In the Electrical Service-Petoskey MIdining room I’ve added electrical outlets to code and a hanging chandelier. In the bathroom I’m installing recessed can lighting, an exhaust fan, vanity lights and electrical outlets to code. Also while that section of the downstairs is open I’ve run circuitry for the upper bath, hallway and bedrooms so I don’t have to fish them in later.

Smoke detectors are also an important part of any home. I always install the hardwired type with a battery backup. Code says to put one inside and outside every bedroom and at least one on each floor. I’ll be installing five smoke detectors in this home.

Once I finish the “rough in” portion of the wiring is done then the insulation, drywall and other finish materials can be installed. I’m sure the owner can’t wait to get to that stage.

Have you got a number for Matt Webster? Mother-in-law on Michigan St. in Petoskey needs some work done.
