New Residential Construction Wiring – Douglas Lake Pellston Michigan

Master Electrician Northern MichiganI almost have this residential construction project ready for a rough electrical inspection. There are still a few questions to be answered like the location of the water  heater and how a few walls are to be framed.

The downturn in housing industry over the last few years has resulted in less new home construction wiring, but an increase in remodeling which means rewiring or upgrading of  electrical components for us electrical contractors. The beauty of new construction wiring is that all of the walls and ceilings are open for easy access!

As you can see by the picture on the top,  the entire bottom portion of the building is a garage/workshop with a second floor apartment consisting of two bedrooms, one bath, a small living room, dining room and kitchen.

The owner didn’t want to bother with propane so he’s using all electrical appliances and electrical baseboard heating. I’ll talk more about the electrical heating in a later post. I have installed a 200 amp electrical service to  accommodate  the extra electrical loads.

This picture is the kitchen/dining room. You can see the blue boxes that will be counter oMaster Electrician Northern Mi,utlets nailed to the wall. I have a special laser that I use to ensure that all of the outlets end up exactly the same height off of the counter top.

As a master electrician and a business owner that takes pride in his work, this is an important step for me  because if the floor is out of level and it’s used for measuring, then the outlets may look like they’re going down hill because the cabinets are always installed “level”.

You can also see the recessed can lighting and I have also put in wiring for under cabinet lighting. This is going to be one cool man cave when it’s finished!
